Anyone there?
Feeling sort of neglected - maybe the entire heimish crowd out in cyberspace is observing Tish B'Av! - I getting my feet wet with signing on- posting, etc. interesting concept - it's nice - jews like to read, write & learn - I've read some blogs re: too many babies, poop, women feeling less than a baby factory, the stringent laws, etc. tzineeut , etc. I always ? - because if we learned all this stuff when we were 4 - had blinders on - we wouldn't ? - however, if you grew up not frum and gradually took this stuff on - there's a difference. I recently was told that hashem made women different from men, we have different obligations, we are wired more emotionally than them, have certain advantages, etc. I always wondered - why a man gets up in am and thanks hashem for not being a woman - think about it! from the frum male perspective, is he happy to be a man, are we less than men? , wow a man is actually grateful that he is not a woman - look at it this way - bearing children, having "women's intutition", are we as species really special??
Growing up I sort of felt that the very frum were very sexist, etc. women phobic, however, as I get older I see the place of women is different- their case is that they respect women for their role here on earth re: hashem's plan, rules apply for family purity, make sex and desire even more heightened by literally staying away during "unclean" times, - it all sounds good on paper, but, yet, how come according to both the jewish and secular press, the unhappiness and divorce rate among the frum crowd is slowly growing. I have always believed in balance, our whole lives are taken up with coming to terms with extremes in all areas, you have to carve out what works for you and adjust, adapt when the scales tip. I',m a Libra! It's been this way for 57 yrs!
So how's by U - somewhere - someone - respect your elders - altebubbe will give u a squeeze for a reply or a patch for ignoring me.
