Another day - Another Slice of Life
Yesterday, I went to a very emotional funeral - the good do die young - our friend sick 10 months with lung cancer - he was 59 - big strapping tri atholon, golfer, meaty, hearty, happy, good hearted, gutte neshama - when I'll go to his grave I'll bring him a prov #1 - he was - played and like the best!! and with his passing to the putting green in the sky - so another little neshama has arrived - I have a bris next thurs - my mah jong buddie's daughter has a baby - 1 up and 1 down !
sometimes with all the faith I have - I question what goes on - who gets the shit - who gets the gold! - who shall live and who shall die - the liturgy is direct, yet harsh. My rabbi just said last week - look how many people come to shul after a loss - they all of a sudden come back - recognize their spirituality - their core essence - the "inner" jew - remember Kaddish is not for the dead - it's for the living - !
We know that hashem does exist because he made wine and beer!
